A 3,400 square foot hillside energy-efficient single-family house overlooking the Hudson River has a central three-story stair leading from the rock-enclosed basement to a third-story glass solar chimney with a moon observation room.

 

The main roof extends beyond the house on the West, South, and East to cover decks and a breezeway. There is an exterior deck on the main level on the South and West with an adjacent covered concrete porch.
