Andrea Shear is a licensed Professional Engineer in multiple states with over 20 years of experience in structural engineering, including Forensic Engineering. She has participated in the evaluation, design, and construction administration of projects in the US ranging from small to large scale for construction materials, including wood, masonry, glass, and steel, as well as conventionally reinforced, precast, prestressed, and post-tensioned concrete.
Andrea’s diverse expertise enables her to navigate the complexities of building restoration effectively. She has successfully managed complex projects and served as the Engineer of Record for numerous renovation and repair projects across the New York Metropolitan area. Her work includes Facade Inspection Safety Program (FISP) inspections and repairs, interior renovations, mechanical and electrical upgrades, and parking garage repairs.
Andrea boasts numerous certifications in New York City, including Qualified Parking Structure Inspector. She is a board member of the Structural Engineers Association of New York (SEAoNY), co-chair of the SEAoNY Codes and Standards Committee, and on the General Requirements Subcommittee of the National Council of Structural Engineers Association (NCSEA)’s Code Advisory Committee.
Anthony Piderit has over a decade of experience in designing conventional concrete, steel, masonry, and modular structures, with a portfolio spanning commercial, institutional, low and high-rise residential, cultural, hospitality, and historic buildings. He has effectively led structural design teams on numerous new construction projects, including four recent ground-up residential and hospitality buildings ranging from 12 to 26 stories. These projects utilized various structural systems like steel frames, cast-in-place concrete, and modular construction. Adopting a collaborative approach, Mr. Piderit works closely with architects, owners, and builders to identify the most suitable and efficient systems for each site and building layout, ensuring continuous coordination with design and construction teams to keep projects on time and within budget.
He has extensive experience working on existing buildings and has led structural teams in adaptive reuse, designing alterations, and additions to these structures. His expertise in investigation, evaluation, restoration, and remediation projects has honed his ability to navigate local regulations, coordinate with the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC), and conduct New York City’s Façade Inspection & Safety Program (FISP).
Jim has over 30 years of experience in both modular and conventionally framed structures. His project expertise includes large-scale new construction of multi-family developments, high-end single-family homes, luxury townhome renovations, healthcare facilities, and adaptive reuse of structures. He enjoys projects that require a high degree of architectural coordination and special structural components and applies his talents to invoke solutions to our client’s expectations.
Michael has over 35 years of experience in the construction industry,
specializing in both conventional and modular structural systems across residential,
commercial, educational, and healthcare projects. As Associate Principal and Director of
Modular Design and Construction at Murray Engineering, he leads the firm’s modular
portfolio, including several multi-story housing developments, schools, hotels, and the
largest off-site modular healthcare hospital in the United States.
David has over 15 years of experience in designing and analyzing structures. With a thorough understanding and deep appreciation of both historic and contemporary buildings, David has cultivated expertise in preservation, restoration, and forensic investigation projects. He is also well versed in designing special structures such as sculptural stairs, facades, and art installations, all of which require innovative outside-the-box thinking.
Sandra leads business development and marketing at Murray Engineering, supporting the firm’s growth through client relationships, strategic partnerships, proposals, communications, and industry engagement. With 30 years of experience, she brings a creative, relationship-driven approach to connecting people and opportunities, strengthening the firm’s visibility, and supporting its continued growth.
Jessica oversees billing, accounting coordination, and day-to-day office administration at Murray Engineering. She supports the team by keeping financial and operational processes organized, efficient, and running smoothly.
Klaudia supports Murray Engineering’s people and internal operations, helping foster a positive, collaborative workplace while keeping day-to-day processes organized and effective. She works across the firm to support leadership, and team needs, as well as to strengthen internal communication.
Robert’s professional engineering career spans over 35 years. Licensed in multiple states and as the Founding Principal of Murray Engineering for the last 28 years, Robert has crafted a reputation for excellence—applying deep knowledge, creating tailored solutions, and delivering solid results.
In 2020, Robert was named an Honorary Member of the Structural Engineers Association of New York (SEAoNY). He has served SEAoNY as Board President, Board Member, Director of Programs, and member of various code committees.
Robert has experience in all construction types including steel, concrete, timber, and masonry structures. His expertise is not only with new building design but with the expansion, renovation, historic preservation, adaptive reuse, and evaluation of existing structures. He remains passionate about building science, sustainable design, and enjoys modular and panelized construction.
