Our commitment to providing our clients with the highest level of service, stems from our breath of expertise and a passion for what we do. From our core services of structural design of new buildings to alterations, renovations, preservation, and investigation of existing buildings, we deliver innovative solutions for all projects.

We pride ourselves on the breadth of our knowledge and in our areas of expertise. We successfully execute structural systems for buildings of all types, including timber, steel, concrete, and masonry as well as special structures.

We have 30+ years of  expertise designing modular structures from small additions to ground-up buildings including housing, offices, hotels, hospitals, schools and dormitories.

Involved in both new buildings and the renovation or retrofitting of existing buildings, we stay up-to-date with the latest codes and regulations for  Passive House  Standards and alternate methods of construction, including mass timber design, in order to optimize building systems and build sustainable, energy-efficient structures.

With a deep understanding of all aspects of building design, building enclosures, and construction, we know what causes buildings to fail and under perform.

Our consulting team of expert professionals with practical design and field experience develops practical, effective designs for repairs of building envelopes and facades. Whether its damage, deterioration, corrosion, leakage, or maintenance.

Our passion and knowledge of historic building systems allows us to better evaluate the structure to help define the proper level of intervention for each building or structure we work with.

We understand the challenges in preserving the architectural integrity of these buildings while trying to meet current performance goals. We provide appropriate, durable, cost-effective design through investigation and diagnosis, analysis and repair recommendations.

New York City’s Façade Inspection Safety Program (FISP), previously known as Local Law 11/38, requires that owners of buildings higher than six stories have their exterior walls and appurtenances inspected every five years by a Qualified Exterior Wall Inspector (QEWI) which is an NYS Professional Engineer or Registered Architect approved by the Department of Buildings.

We perform the required inspection, electronically file the associated documentation, develop and execute a repair program for your outstanding SWARMP and/or unsafe conditions and assist with the phasing of future FISP-related repairs and maintenance for the long-term safety and maintenance of your building(s).

Whether it’s demolition, a new development or expansion and modification of existing structures, these require careful planning and engineering in order to prevent damage to nearby buildings.

Retained by owners of existing buildings, we provide an independent review of the risk mitigation strategies proposed by the new building design team and manage any issues that arise during project execution. If not performed in a proper sequence, these construction procedures can trigger stress changes to adjacent properties and cause damage as well as raising concerns with disruption of access, noise, dust, vibration, and safety.

Our engineers are well versed in performing critical investigations and analysis to assess the effects of design defects, construction defects, and improper use on the strength, serviceability, and durability of structures.

To ensure the highest quality project, our team provides viable value engineering options to maximize the project budget.  We are adept at identifying design improvements resulting in significant savings to the project and the Owner/Developer’s bottom line without compromising on function or value.

Peer Reviews may be performed to enhance public safety, for quality assurance, risk management, constructability, cost, or code compliance. With a collaborative approach, we find that the most effective reviews occur when we constructively communicate any concerns, questions, or discrepancies to the design engineer after we have performed our analysis.

Our decades of experience gives us deep and broad knowledge to act as independent expert advisors or expert witnesses to help avoid or resolve disputes.
