Murray Engineering provided engineering services for the conversion of this landmark building to a single-family residence. A complete inspection and assessment of the original framing allowed us to integrate a modern plan into this 100-year-old whaling merchant’s mansion.
The scope of work included the demolition of the building’s eastern wing, extensive interior renovations to the remaining structure, and the construction of a new carriage house. The renovations were fast-tracked by the developer, making it necessary for us to expedite the alterations while keeping the costs reasonable.
