With a deep understanding of all aspects of building design, building enclosures, and construction, we know what causes buildings to fail and under perform.

Our consulting team of expert professionals with practical design and field experience develops practical, effective designs for repairs of building envelopes and facades. Whether its damage, deterioration, corrosion, leakage, or maintenance.

We understand the challenges in preserving the architectural integrity of these buildings while trying to meet current performance goals. We provide appropriate, durable, cost-effective design through investigation and diagnosis, analysis and repair recommendations.

New York City’s Façade Inspection Safety Program (FISP), previously known as Local Law 11/38, requires that owners of buildings higher than six stories have their exterior walls and appurtenances inspected every five years by a Qualified Exterior Wall Inspector (QEWI) which is an NYS Professional Engineer or Registered Architect approved by the Department of Buildings.

In an effort to keep buildings safe, be in compliance with NYC Construction Codes §28-323, and RCNY §103-13, owners of parking structures must hire a New York State licensed and registered Professional Engineer (PE) who is also a Qualified Parking Structure Inspector (QPSI) to inspect the parking structure and file a condition assessment report with the Department at least once every six (6) years.

Whether it’s demolition, a new development or expansion and modification of existing structures, these require careful planning and engineering in order to prevent damage to nearby buildings.

Retained by owners of existing buildings, we provide an independent review of the risk mitigation strategies proposed by the new building design team and manage any issues that arise during project execution. If not performed in a proper sequence, these construction procedures can trigger stress changes to adjacent properties and cause damage as well as raising concerns with disruption of access, noise, dust, vibration, and safety.

Our engineers are well versed in performing critical investigations and analysis to assess the effects of design defects, construction defects, and improper use on the strength, serviceability, and durability of structures.

Peer Reviews may be performed to enhance public safety, for quality assurance, risk management, constructability, cost, or code compliance. With a collaborative approach, we find that the most effective reviews occur when we constructively communicate any concerns, questions, or discrepancies to the design engineer after we have performed our analysis.
