The New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) engaged Murray Engineering in 2016 through our on-call contract with the New York State Office of General Services (OGS) to serve as the prime consultant in performing a budget study of necessary repairs for Building 73 at the Creedmoor Psychiatric Center.
Creedmoor Psychiatric Center’s Building 73 was erected in 1922 during the center’s first construction program and was one of two structures built for patient housing that year. The building has historic significance and was designated a historic site by the New York State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) in 1983. For much of its life the building has provided housing for the center’s patients. Today the building’s lower levels serve a variety of uses including offices, outpatient facilities, and a location for the State Supreme Court mental hygiene hearings.
