After completing our initial structural scope of repurposing a roller disco into a Chelsea art gallery we were tasked with insuring the safe installation and support of Paul McCarthy’s wooden sculptures.
The exhibition consists of 6 sculptures with a total weight of over 15 tons placed in nonsymmetrical locations. Murray Engineering analyzed the original 1919 steel framing, modeled the new loads and ensured that not only would the final locations be safe but also the sequence and path of installation not compromise building stability.
